Full Description:
The house is down a private, gated lane one minute’s walk from the main square. It has 3 stories, a roof terrace and a smaller sun-trap terrace.
The top floor is comprised of a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, as well as a large multi-use room, which we use as the kids’ room, that has a mezzanine area with a high kid’s bed. It’s accessed by a climbing frame. This room leads onto the terrace, big enough for a table and chairs.
The main living space is comprised of an open kitchen-dining room, connected to the lounge with a woodstove (which also heats the upstairs) being central to this space.
The built-in couches double as generous storage units.

Downstairs is the entrance area, a storage area with washing machine and freezer, a bathroom with bath and a bedroom/office with a built-in double bed that converts to couch. The “office” stows away into a cupboard.
The outdoor spaces are:
A roof terrace with two bed-sized benches, great for a summer night under the stars, with views of the Sierra Nevada and the village.
A smaller terrace that is tucked out of the wind which is a great sun-trap in winter, and can be fully shaded in summer.
A private gated lane, great for storing firewood, bikes and a cool shaded area to be outdoors in the summer months.

The house was renovated in 2004 and is well insulated (sound and heat), has double-glazing throughout, new electrics and plumbing and hand-crafted surfaces, furniture and fittings, all custom designed by a local architect to fit the exact space and personal style of the house. All furniture is built-in, except the dining table (aluminium and oak), and comes with the house, so it’s ready to move in without having to furnish. Domestic appliances are also included.

The area is very special, 16 km from Granada, a well known destination for local weekend tourists and becoming increasingly popular with international tourists. This house has great potential as a tourist rental accommodation or as a holiday home. We have used it as our family home for the last 15 years and continue to live in this vibrant town, which has an award-winning local (free) school, great sports facilities including a brand-new skatepark and is only 20 mins from the Sierra Nevada ski resort and only 16kms from the cultural capital of Granada and UNESCO world heritage site the Alhambra Palace.
